UK BUSINESS PAYMENTS

International business payment fees from the UK

When paying multiple suppliers abroad, the useful number is not the lowest advertised fee. It is the total cost of each invoice plus the cost of operating the payment workflow.

Quick answer

Separate business account or feature fees from charges for individual transfers. Compare FX conversion, banking rails, any SWIFT or receiving-bank charges, and whether batch payments or approval controls save work.

A Wise Business account fee is not a transfer fee

Wise Business publishes separate fees for receiving account details, different incoming payment methods and sending foreign-currency payments. The UK fee for obtaining account details is not a recurring price for every outgoing transfer. Check the actual country-specific pricing before committing.

Total cost per invoice versus cost per month

For a single payment, compare the specific amount delivered to the supplier. For monthly batches, total the costs of all transactions and any software or account subscription you genuinely need.

Batch payments and approvals

Wise states that eligible Business customers can send to as many as 1,000 recipients in a batch. Confirm supported currency routes, business eligibility, file-format controls and the number of manual approvals you require.

Fixed recipient amounts prevent underpayment

If a supplier invoices exactly €2,000, start from the required recipient amount rather than entering £2,000 as the send amount. Make sure the fee treatment and receiving-bank charges are documented in the commercial agreement.

What to do next

Compare the same amount, route and final recipient amount. Provider prices and eligibility may change before checkout.

Frequently asked questions

Is a Wise Business account subscription required for every payment?

Not necessarily. Separate account-detail fees, optional services and per-transfer pricing; check the UK offer for your account.

Eligible Wise Business accounts support batch payments. Availability and limits depend on the account and route.

Can I compare business payments by advertised fee alone?

No. Include the exchange rate, final recipient amount and any third-party or workflow costs.
